Introducing Field Serve: Everything You Need for Field Service, Now in ScanPay

Introducing Field Serve: Everything You Need for Field Service, Now in ScanPay
Published on
June 9, 2025

Every home service business—and every technician—knows that juggling dispatch, job details, invoicing, and payroll across different apps or spreadsheets is a pain. Today, we’re excited to launch Field Serve, a complete Field Service Management suite built right inside your ScanPay account. From dispatching on a map to tracking expenses, commissions, and pay runs, Field Serve brings everything together in one place—so you can focus on knocking out jobs instead of chasing paperwork.

A Single, Seamless Workflow

Over the last few months, home service entrepreneurs —plumbers, locksmiths, electricians, and more—told us the same thing: “We spend half our week hopping between spreadsheets, routing apps, and payroll tools.” That’s why Field Serve isn’t a standalone product—it lives inside ScanPay, tying dispatch, invoicing, payments, and payroll into a single flow. With Field Serve, you can:

  • Create and Assign Jobs
  • Build unlimited jobs and assign them to your team by custom service area - Plus-only. View everything on an interactive map—and collaborate with your team with notes and attachments.
  • Calculate Commissions with flexible rules
  • Set default and custom commission rules for your team, then override on a per-job basis - so you never miscalculate what you owe.
  • Capture Costs and See True Profitability
  • Snap expense receipts on the job, log labor hours, and track referral fees in ScanPay. All line-item costs roll up automatically into the corresponding invoice, so there’s no separate accounting system to maintain. No manual exports, no third-party BI tools.
  • Run Pay Runs (Plus-Only)
  • When a pay period ends, generate a payroll report for your crew—accounting for cash or Zelle collections, tip splits, and referral commissions. When a technician collects a payment on-site, ScanPay already knows about it, so pay calculations happen instantly.
  • Technician Self-Service (Plus-Only)
  • Give techs a read-only earnings dashboard inside ScanPay—so they can check their own earnings without needing a second payroll login.
  • Reports & Dashboards (Plus-Only)
  • Drill into total volume, team performance, and referral performance alongside your existing ScanPay dashboards. Filter by date, technician, or external partner with a single click—no data migration required.

Since everything from dispatch to payment to tech pay lives inside ScanPay, there’s no need to switch back and forth between apps or spreadsheets—your entire field-service workflow happens in one place.

Field Serve and Field Serve Plus: One Suite, Two Flavors

Rather than split Field Serve into two isolated products, we’ve built a single FSM toolkit—unlocking advanced features for Field Serve Plus. Here’s what you get:

  1. Field Serve
    1. Unlimited job creation & basic assignments (no service areas)
    2. Link estimates and invoices with jobs
    3. Record expenses and material costs and see job-level profitability
  2. Field Serve Plus ($99.99/mo, 60-Day Free Trial)
  3. All Field Serve features, plus:
    • Custom Service Areas & Auto- Assignments
    • Map-based Dispatch
    • End-of-Period Pay Runs (auto-calculate payouts, tip splits)
    • Track Referral Sources and Fees
    • Technician Self-Service Dashboard (contractors see their own pay)
    • Reports & Dashboards

Because Field Serve already “records” every cost and commission, upgrading to Plus simply flips on instant analysis, mapping, and payroll. No data migration required—everything is ready the moment you hit “Upgrade.”

Built With Your Feedback

From day one, we’ve been iterating in public. A massive thank you to our design partners, beta testers, and everyone who provided us with feedback. Because of you, Field Serve ships with:

  • Saved Views for saving filtered views of jobs and the map that works for you and your dispatchers
  • Flexible Job Tags: Teams asked for a way to create and manage tags on a team and job level
  • Referral Defaults & Overrides: Set a default percentage or fixed fee per external company, then tweak on a per-job basis.
  • Real-Time Expense Capture: Snap photos of receipts on iOS and Android and tie them directly to a job.

If you have thoughts on what’s next—maybe integrated timesheets, mobile-first routing, or richer labor cost KPIs—drop your ideas at ScanPay Feedback. We read every suggestion.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Do I need a credit card to start the trial of the Plus plan?

Nope. You get a full 60 days of Plus features before any payment is taken.

Q: Are reports and pay runs mobile-friendly?

The mobile app covers job entry, dispatch, and expense capture. Reports and pay runs are currently on the web only—so you’ll need to hop onto a desktop or tablet.

Q: Can my technicians see their pay?

Yes—if you’re subscribed to Plus, then your technicians can earn their earnings on their mobile (under My Pay) for completed jobs (after you confirm them in accounting) and other adjustments (no extra permissions needed).

Q: What if I don’t upgrade?

You can record unlimited jobs, commissions, and expenses on the Field Service plan for free. When you’re ready for mapping or payroll automation, upgrading is just a click.

Why You’ll Love Field Serve

  • All-in-One: Jobs, dispatch, invoices, payments, pay runs—under one roof.
